The history of the area is as wide as the interest of its citizens. There have been artists, a president, actors, news anchors and many more that have come from Cedar Rapids and Iowa. Cedar Rapids has been working to keep or restore it's heritage. Local neighborhood organizations have used the historical past to revitalize their neighborhoods and keep the past alive.
